Perhaps one of the most common symptoms of menopause is vaginal dryness. Thinner vaginal walls, less production of natural lubricant, and an itchy vagina all combine to create an environment that can make sex painful. However, diet can greatly affect your general health and wellbeing.
Breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for several reasons. Not only does eating first thing in the morning keep you more focused during the day, but it can also help keep off the pounds, as you'll be less likely to snack before lunch.
Cherries, yogurt and granola with a side of melon

Dehydration can cause vaginal dryness and eating plenty of fruits and vegetables can help. Many have a large quantity of water proportional to their weight. Cherries and melon stimulate estrogen production - an important hormone during menopause. Try sprinkling in some flax seeds for an added boost.
Lunch
A tempting time of day to grab something fast and greasy, but adding just a little more thought to your lunch choice can improve your health.

Apple, walnut, and spinach are key foods for reproductive health. For more flavor, try adding some feta and top with a balsamic vinaigrette. Apples are associated with estrogen production, while walnuts are full of vitamin E, a key ingredient for reproductive health.
Dinner
Salmon fillet with sesame oil and asparagus

Eat salmon and asparagus to combat vaginal dryness. Cook some black rice, full of antioxidants, to go with it. Fishes and oils contain essential fats and omega 3 fatty acids that can help with vaginal dryness. Asparagus is a known aphrodisiac that promotes oxygen flow.
Dessert
Alcohol dehydrates your body, so its best to avoid it. If you still feel you need a little indulgence after dinner, why not try a fruit-based dessert?
Chocolate and strawberries

Try chocolate and strawberries for dessert. Chocolate-covered strawberries can be an expensive hassle. Instead, grab your favorite chocolate bar and some strawberries next time you're at the store and make your own. If you don't like strawberries, choose a fruit you do like.
