If you are unable to sleep at night, it may be beneficial to try and have a snack in the hours leading up to going to bed. While common wisdom and scientific research dictate that people should try to get the majority of their calories in the first half of the day and not snack leading up to bed, it is a good idea to eat something small before bed.

Don't be afraid to try add-ins like chocolate chips, nuts, or raisins. When it comes to milk, you do not need to just limit yourself to dairy milk. Try rice milk, almond milk, or soymilk.

While it may not be a solution for everyone, this snack can help some people get to sleep if they are experiencing minor sleep issues.
Oatmeal is rich in fiber and adds variety to the grains that you eat. Fiber is imperative for healthy digestion, and it is a nutrient that most people do not get enough of.
Alongside fiber, oatmeal cookies also contain protein. Homemade cookies tend to be healthier than pre-packaged ones, and the sugar and butter in them makes cookies a mood-enhancing food.
Having a tepid glass of milk is a source of relaxation for many people. They feel soothed when they consume the warm beverage, and it can act as a nighttime ritual that prepares them mentally for bed and helps them get to sleep.
Tryptophan is a neurotransmitter that promotes sleep. Thankfully, both oats and milk contain tryptophan, so this snack before bed should help you to relax, which will hopefully lead to a good night's sleep.
