Menopause symptoms can be frustrating. Here are three of the most common menopause symptoms and some tips to help keep your symptoms under control.
Hot Flashes
If you feel like a hot flash is coming, there are a number of things you can do to prevent it. First, make sure you wear layers so when you feel a hot flash coming on you can discreetly take off one or more of the layers. Also, be sure to keep a bottle of water with you at all times. If you drink water during a hot flash it helps keep your body temperature down and your most severe hot flashes at bay.
Night Sweats
There are some precautions you can take to ensure your night sweats do not cause too many problems. Have a bottle of water by your bedside and try to avoid hot baths or showers within an hour of sleep. They raise your body's temperature, making it more susceptible to night sweats. Try to avoid spicy foods, as they also raise your body's temperature, making it more likely you will suffer from a night sweat.
Vaginal Dryness
Vaginal dryness is nothing to be ashamed of, and it is a perfectly natural symptom of menopause. It is important that your partner knows what you are going through so that he or she can help, and work with you to make intercourse more enjoyable. It is your hormones causing your loss of libido and vaginal dryness. Together you two will be able to come up with a plan that works for you both.
