Body sprays, perfumes, lotions, and makeup can all create allergic reactions that lead to agitated, inflamed, and itchy skin. To test if a suspect beauty product is the reason why you can't stop scratching, try leaving it out of your daily routine for a week to see if your symptoms abate.
Try to use “fragrance-free” products to minimize irritation. Be wary of those labeled “unscented” as they might still possess skin-irritating chemicals.
As people age, it is normal for the elasticity of skin to decrease and for it to be less moisturized, resulting in skin you cannot stop itching.
