What Dental Products Should You Buy and What Food Should You Eat to Avoid Gum Problems?
Whether you are attempting to prevent gingivitis or are already suffering from gum problems, these simple products will go a long way toward improving your oral health. These products include:
A New Toothbrush
Make sure that it is a soft-bristled brush because it will be gentler on your gums and better at removing unnecessary plaque. It doesn't matter if it is a regular or electric toothbrush. Just use it regularly, especially after each meal. Look for a toothbrush with the American Dental Association (ADA) seal on it. Replace it every two months.
Buy toothpaste that will reduce tarter build-up. Toothpastes that have triclosan in them will help reduce mild gingivitis, but avoiding abrasive toothpastes is recommended.
Daily flossing is one of the simplest changes to incorporate into your dental hygienic routine, but it provides the greatest positive change in your oral health. Add it to your list if you don't have any at home and use once a day. Try to avoid very thin floss. Foods high in calcium will remove harmful sugars and plaque from your mouth, which will significantly improve your oral health.
Fish & Nuts
Recent scientific research suggests that foods that are high in polyunsaturated fatty acids fight gum disease. These include fatty fish and their oils, nuts, and peanut butter.
